Paving the Road Towards a Better Future

Since 1991, Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity has provided affordable homes to our local community. Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles. Our faith is demonstrated through the action of building homes in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and surrounding communities. Contrary to popular belief, Habitat for Humanity is a partnership organization, not a giveaway program. We provide a hand-up to our local community. We build homes with our partner families and sell the houses at no profit or interest to individuals who could not otherwise afford a home.

We operate solely on private donations and volunteer labor to complete our homes. Habitat homeowners are required to invest hundreds of hours of their own labor working alongside volunteers to complete renovations. Habitat’s homeowner families buy the houses that Habitat builds and renovates. All applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, sex, or national origin.

Through our partner family selection process, we offer classes to help our neighbors prepare for the responsibilities of homeownership.  Our informational classes include understanding your credit score, how to save for a down payment, budgeting for home repairs, what to expect at a home closing, and more. These classes will give our community the knowledge necessary to buy a home with confidence. Our mission supports self-reliance, and stability, which strengthens all residents of Pine Bluff.

Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity has become an important part of the community.  Contact us to learn more about what you can do to help, and become a part of the change by donating or volunteering today.
